Yep--words to live by...I am sitting here bored as can be with a knee the size of an over-ripe grapefruit, looking forward to the doc draining it with a needle too big to think about, and the self medication via our old friend Mr Jameson, no doubt had more to do with my posts than anything substantive, eh? It was fine this morning--what a bitch. But hey--time zone diff's saved the day (maybe not; Rob doesn't like those deletions...tough crumpets at this pt, though; we'll talk it out, I am sure. I've said a lot worse to him, right?).

Take care big guy; give that little one a pat on the head for me.

So which one of those four dots is the Black Spot?

The first one? Not sure why I added them--I think I was worried it wouldn't let me post just one repeatedly?!

Heavens to murgatroyd! It must be, what, 3 am in Arizona? You having trouble sleeping with the knee, old friend?

I'm not going to ask you what the four dots replaced. Imagination is probably juicier, funnier and less likely to cause unseemly rifts between old comrades!

Yep; I had to leave the room--keeping the dog awake...now is that pathetic? Actually feels better sitting up.

I will say, I did think that "he reads them all anyway" was a cheap shot; true, or not--it seemed a bit too pointed. But maybe that's my overly sensitive, slightly hungover unable to sleep self?

I think I will get to see the sunrise, though--still an hr or two. Besides, no one will begrudge a few facebook moments in the midst of this--what, jihadist attack--is that what all these other posts are about?

I had to change the subject line. That 'esle' has been bugging the shit out of me for too long.

'he reads them all anyway' wasn't meant as any kind of jibe at all - just an acknowledgement that you tend to keep more abreast of developments in our little ghetto than most. I was just trying to avoid posting what would have been pretty similar responses to both you and micah. But you know, in light of our correspondence elsewhere, I'm the last one who should be fingerwaving about getting sticks by the wrong end...

Islam-ah-oh-um-ah seems to fall into the Christian fundamentalist rather than the jihadi camp. Of course, like the hardline commies and fascists, there's little difference in either camp when it comes to their attitudes towards the rest of us.

I'll try to get back to you and Larry before the end of the day. I'm stuck in text revisions at the moment, though not feeling terrifically enthusiastic about it. But just know for now that I'm very very glad to have both of you around.

Just noticed the "esle" myself. Can't believe that was let go as long as it was. Now it is your restraint I admire.

No way rob . I never read the posts , but through quick scrolling by I see enough cap lock ( what is it with cap lock ? ). Don't stick him/her in my camp . We take all ; tax collectors , whores of all nature , thieves , me , ect , but not those unable to think rationally . The words and approach are far away from anything our big guy taught . I would leave it as fundamentally needing a full battery of medical tests . And that last sentence is no joke , unfortunately for him/her .

Just a minute there, young fella.

Not wishing to stir the pot too vigorously I'd make the case that religion and rationality make for pretty strange bedfellows under any roof.

Nonetheless, I still see Islam-ah-oh-ah-shit as taking a fundamentalist (I am right/you are wrong) stance. The guy is not exactly inviting reasoned discussion of his position. Whether or not he actually believes what he's saying or is just throwing tantrums to get attention is a different matter.

Now, I am aware on a superficial level of your beliefs (the handle was a clue...) and I am perfectly happy for you to pursue them. What I don't expect (and have never had from you) is any tendency to attempt to impose these beliefs on me if I tell you politely that I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in embracing them.

And therein lies the difference between you and him. One man confident in his position and the other flailing around like a drunken ballerina.

Guess which is which.

It's good to have you back you gnarled ol' Scot .

I can see religion/rationality would be an oxymoron to you . I decline in this forum to pursue that further . I don't want to bring that discussion in here . Not the place . Now , if you want to email me .... :-)

I see things a bit different on the golem . It's like watching someone naked , smearing themselves publicly , taking joy every time the hand happens to be near their mouth . It makes me sad .
